President Kennedy threatened to diminish the Soviet Threat that was the basis of the military/security complex’s power and profit.
Presidents Nixon, Reagan, and Trump attempted to revive Kennedy’s policy, but were defeated in turn. Nixon was politically assassinated with Watergate and Trump by the long list of fake accusations beginning with Russiagate. Reagan succeeded, but success was overturned by the Soviet collapse that gave rise to the Neoconservative policy of US hegemony.
