A Tower of Babel Is a Country Without a Language

Paul Craig Roberts

I often speak of the US as a tower of babel. The evidence is all around us. I just received a notice from my private supplemental insurance to Medicare. The notice stresses its language assistance services. The private company offers its Medicare supplement customers communication in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Tagalog, Russian, Arabic, Haitian Creole, French, Polish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Japanese, Hindi, Hmong, Khmer, Llocano, Navajo, Somali, Greek, Gujarati.

Apparently, immigrants are no longer expected to learn the language of the country.

I wonder how much all theses translators run up the cost of my supplement premium.
