Big Pharma’s rip off of Medicare

Dear Paul,

I’m writing regarding your column about your receiving outdated/expired COVID 19 test kits.

I experienced also an odd thing while caring for my mother-in-law who was living in a quality non-profit skilled nursing facility. Of course, that’s why the care was of high quality, because it was a non-profit.

I received all of her EOB’s from her insurance carriers. She has not ever been able to tolerate immunizations of any kind, so when the COVID injection came along, my husband and I made it clear to the facility that she was not, under any circumstances, to receive the injection. Just as a side note, she had lived to age 90 with no vaccinations.

Some time later, I got an EOB from Medicare and I was surprised to see that the facility had been compensated for a COVID immunization for her. I got right on the phone and called the head of nursing. She checked her chart and confirmed that they had indeed followed our instructions. She did not receive the shot.

Then I considered insurance fraud on the part of the facility, but ruled that out because I have worked with them many years and I know them to be reputable.

The only thing I can surmise is that the government paid out payments [throughMedicare]  to the pharmaceutical companies for every elderly person, whether or not they received it, because the CDC had recommended it for this age group.

I agree with you that our CDC, FDA, NIH, NIAID, etc. are all incompetent and egregious agencies.

We would all do well, to discount every single word that comes from their respective lips.

Enjoying your writings and wishing you well,
