Trump’s Military Reforms Are Necessary

Nonsense! Returning a military to fighting condition is not radical. The radical shift occurred under Obama and Biden when the US military was turned into a DEI playground in which nothing depended on merit or preparedness. Instead, America had a military based on race, gender, and sexual preference privileges.
Commentators are reading too much into Trump’s restoration of military standards. The restoration of military standards is necessary and should not be misconstrued as Trump turning the military into his personal Praetorian Guard.
A serious question is: Will Trump’s effort to restore US armed forces to military footing be construed by Democrats and the media as another Trump insurrection, a coup against Democracy? How much officer material does Trump have to work with after years of West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Air Force instilling a DEI mentality in officers. Obama and Biden fired the officers imbued with the military tradition and put in their place DEI indoctrinated or opportunistic officers as replacements. I noticed that at the end of Hegseth’s and Trump’s speeches, there was no cheering, no clapping, no thankful response for restoring a military tradition. Just silence.
With the US preparing wars against Russia, Venezuela, Iran, and perhaps China, Trump needs a military that is cohesive and capable of combat. A DEI contingent would be blown off a battlefield. The US cannot be a hegemon with a DEI military. We don’t have to look for ulterior motives to understand Trump’s purging of DEI from the military.
