Europeans Murder Children to Protect Them from Covid

The psychiatric consequences of isolating children

By Daniel Weinmann

No meetings with friends, no sports, no interaction with like-minded people in face-to-face classes – and above all, the fear of infecting others. Children and adolescents are among the most vulnerable to the lockdowns and Corona measures. The extreme lack of hope and joy, as well as community and interpersonal relationships, deprives this age group of emotional nourishment. The result: depression, eating disorders, anxiety – even suicide attempts.

In November, a child with a suicide attempt is admitted in the emergency room of the Dortmund Youth Psychiatric Clinic every day, the “Ruhrnachrichten” reported. Only a short time later, the General Hospital of the City of Vienna (AKH) spoke of a doubling of suicide attempts among young people compared to the previous year.

Much more alarming are the figures reported by the Essen University Hospital the day before yesterday in a study that has not yet been peer-reviewed. According to this, between March and the end of May 2021 alone, up to 500 children had to be treated as inpatients in intensive care units nationwide after suicide attempts. The dramatic development, based on data from 27 German children’s intensive care units, have study director Christian Dohna-Schwake “surprised”.

Overall, the Divi Intensive Care Registry showed 22 Corona cases treated in pediatric intensive care units at the same time Wednesday (Dec. 1). The number had risen to 30 on Nov. 27 from 5 at the beginning of the month. It is the highest swing in the curve since April 2020, but not all reporting areas were enrolled in the registry at the start of the pandemic, either, according to Divi data (German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine)

Children are not severely affected by Covid-19

“It remains the case that children are not severely affected by Covid-19,” Hoffmann (General Secretary of DIVI and Paediatric Intensive Care Specialist, Munich) said. Children’s additional Corona infection can be detected during routine testing at the hospital, for example. The increased numbers in pediatric intensive care units reflect the current very high prevalence of SARS-2 coronavirus throughout the population, Hoffmann said. Among the young patients, for example, are newborns who were infected by their mothers and are being observed first as a precautionary measure, he said.

It continues to be very rare individual cases when pre-diseased children are intubated and ventilated because of Covid-19, Hoffmann said. “For a healthy person to become seriously ill from a Corona infection is an absolute rarity in children, unlike adults.”
