A reader’s response: Yes, there have been a number of reports I saw in the UK, France and Belgium, also using another drug, rivotril, with similar properties. These patients were denied hospital care, because the public hospitals were getting full, but they could have received oxygen in their nursing homes or be transferred to private hospitals. Instead, they were left without food and water, before being given these drugs to “treat their anxiety” according to witnesses.
