Super Tuesday a “Super Letdown” as America realizes that her Presidential Candidates “Just Suck”

Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com Welcome to Capital Account. Super Tuesday came and went, and if anything it seems more like a super letdown. As the economy dominates the agenda this election year, voters have failed to flock to the one candidate who actually has a long-term view and addresses concerns of sound money and monetary policy, and represents a shift from the status quo. Why? Are voters stupid? Does “the public suck” as George Carlin famously said? We find it hard to believe that Americans, after years of being fooled and lied to by politicians, dragged to war on false intelligence, forced to hand over their savings so bankers like Jamie Dimon and Lloyd Blankfein could continue to make millions of dollars hand over fist are still willing to get up off their butts and go vote for another batch of politicians who plan on doing THE EXACT SAME THING. Insanity by definition…we ask our guest Dr. Paul Craig Roberts what he though about yesterday’s “democratic” outcome and what he thinks this says not just about the candidates, but about the public. Meanwhile, Germany does seem to be taking a cue from one republican presidential hopeful — Ron Paul — who has long called for an audit of the US’s gold reserves. The Bundesbank is reportedly reviewing its gold reserves. Are they taking stock in case of a eurozone collapse? Anyone who has read Jim Rickards’ “Currency Wars,” knows very well that if things escalate dramatically gold may be a country’s only salvation from …

  1. Excellent analysis as always, from Mr. Roberts. The three toads on the rep. side who are running are simply pawns to make it almost impossible for the resident in chief turd to lose. We can only hope Paul goes third party and gets a good running mate to put him over the top.

  2. I just don’t understand how Americans have become so dis-engaged. Somewhere along the way American Idol and Jersey Shore and Survivor has consumed our society….no effort is placed researching and seeking. I hope these people are learning survival methods on their beloved Survivor tv show…bc with the shredding of the constitution and the recent laws that have passed, they are fixing to need it. Praying for this nation.

  3. I would suggest as mr. roberts did here that you understand what the average lower income amerikan is going through currently to understand why they dont seek out info other than through the drips they get in the lame street media. One place to start would be an article in this months mother jones magazine. the cover story is on an internet packing warehouse where thousands of people work 10-12 hours a day in brutal conditions for little money. do you think these people and the millions other out there in amerika would rush home at the end of their shifts to seek out alternative media. No, Id say a six pack and some reality tv is there fare of choice. as we fall farther and farther down the rabbit hole people will continue to look away and live in their fantasy worlds rather than face the abyss which many of us stand over!

    • tom, I agree. I one of those struggling. I have friends though, who are stay at home moms and part time workers, though I love them, they sit by their pools, watching Jersey Shore and American Idol and Desperate Housewives…I’m not condeming them, I just don’t understand the lack of “want to know.” I suppose we are all different. But I wish ALL would take a stand, refuse to be distracted and educate themselves…how else will they protect their families when this all comes to a head? I agree with you though and do understand what you are saying. It just hurts my heart.

  4. As one currently working in Spain, let me testify that there is not even ONE average person here who is doing anything to prepare themselves for the days to come. None are stocking up on food and clothing. None are planting gardens. In fact, you would be extremely hard pressed to even find a pressure cooker suitable for canning your own food. People here are living and buying and selling as though the future was as bright as ever! If the economy crashes and food becomes scarce, millions here will literally starve to death.

  5. sounds like the us isnt the only place where people are turning away from the grim reality all around them. Hard to believe Spaniards are so foolish but unfortunately the amerikan ‘system’ has spread its disease all over the world and in places where
people once farmed, canned, and prepared their own food, you now have the same type of consumers as here in amerika where its live for the minute and if you are hungry you can run out at midnight to taco bell! very grisly times ahead.
